I’ve always had an appreciation for art in all its forms. Initially trying my hand at oil painting, later constructing stained glass windows, then on to hot glass, fusing, slumping and making dichroic pieces for jewelry. Somewhere in the midst of this I was in Helen, GA and saw a wire wrapped bracelet in a shop window. I was in awe and couldn’t get it out of my mind…..this was something I had to do and after some research and a lot of practice using inexpensive copper wire things started coming together. I was hooked and any spare time was spent creating unique pendants, earrings and bracelets in sterling silver or 14K gold filled wire. After that I took silversmith classes, this gave me an additional outlet of expression for my jewelry. My next passion turned to lapidary, taking the rough (gem stone rocks) slicing them, and cutting out a design, grinding and polishing into beautiful cabochons that I could wrap or silversmith. The name of my company, Windsong Glass, Etc., originally was just for stained glass creations….Thank Goodness Etc. was included to cover all the enjoyable things that followed!
